Jim Pietrovito

As the principal of Pietrovito Design LLC, Jim uses his wide variety of past experience as a mechanical design engineer to provide tailored solutions for customers.

Jim's extensive engineering experience includes projects in many different areas - from high precision semi-conductor capital equipment to waste management solutions for developing countries to innovative furnaces that cast individual silicon wafers. Prior to founding Pietrovito Design LLC, Jim worked at 1366 Technologies and DCI Engineering Services (now Columbia Tech) as a Lead Mechanical Engineer and CAD Administrator. Earlier in his career, Jim worked as a Mechanical Engineer at American Dryer Corporation and interned at DEKA Research & Development. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jim has a strong commitment to youth through adult sports, as an avid participant, coach, and leader. He served as an Assistant Alpine Ski Coach for the WPI Ski Teams from 2004 to 2010, and Head Alpine Ski Coach at the College of the Holy Cross from 2012 to 2022. Jim now serves as the Race Director at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area, proudly managing one of the largest adult ski racing programs in the United States, a position he has held since October 2022. Jim has coached youth through high school soccer, and has served in multiple leadership positions for Sterling Youth and Mountain Soccer Club. He enjoys his own Sunday soccer games as a member of the Harvard Blues, as well as mountain and road biking.
